What is a therapeutic sound session?
It’s a compilation of modalities including breathwork, grounding techniques, and the uses of sound from single tone instruments to promote relaxation and overall health & well-being. It involves lying fully clothed on a massage table and utilizing breathwork before gently segwaying into the music/sound that’s traditionally played from over-tone emitting instruments (I.E. tibetan bowls, gongs, chimes, etc). By using a specific technique and placement of bowls upon/near the body, vibrations of instruments permeate the body, promoting deep relaxation and improving the individual’s emotional and physical well-being.
How does it work?
Sound innately helps facilitate shifts in our brainwave state. By using certain rhythms and frequencies, we can entrain our brainwaves to down-shift from our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) or delta (sleep, where internal healing can occur). Specific frequencies can also help shift blockages & invite release in the body, like the striated muscles, nervous system, and even digestive organs, providing non-invasive relief to the body & mind.
What to expect?
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
This is a frequently asked question?
A therapeutic sound session varies from client to client, but it's meant to be both a passive and participatory experience. The passive aspect is laying down, getting comfortable, and slowing the breath down. By doing this, you prepare yourself toward relaxation and become the receiver of sound. It's in this place of stillness that you participate by becoming more open and aware of each sound that comes in. Sound facilitates a pathway to a place of stillness, relaxation, and meditation. Some of the main areas that sound can help with are sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, stress management, PTSD, and pain management.
